Documenting the Great Apes of East Africa with National Geographic Expeditions on flights, hikes, jeeps, river boats, and safaris. Trekking through Uganda and Rwanda with iPhones, Go Pros, and a Sony A7Sii, to capture 4K video and Hi-Rez photos along the way.
A journey to the land of Charles Darwin: the scattered volcanic Galápagos Islands 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. Life there moves to the rhythm of nature with thousands of endemic species, both on its land and under its waters. Galápagos has a “naïve ecology”, in that the animals evolve without predators and have no instinctive fear of humans. Which makes the archipelago a photographer's playground and a storyteller’s dream come true. I captured this experience in 4K with an iPhone 14 Pro Max, a Go Pro Hero 10 Black, and a Sony A7Sii for both video and stills.
We recently joined an amazing home building volunteer effort in the small town of Stanford, Kentucky. While swinging a hammer is valuable, we decided to donate our collective storytelling skills to add to the whole impact. Many thanks to those contributing reporting, producing, shooting, editing, composing and computing expertise. Here's what happens when strangers choose to work together to achieve the "nearly" impossible. Shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max using Final Cut Camera App, and edited in Final Cut Pro. iPhones and iPads were courtesy of Apple Seed.

Shot in 4K on an iPhone 12 Pro Max in Log V3 using FiLMic Pro. A Go Pro Hero 7 Black was used for the time lapses. Eli & Noah are on a mission to simultaneously reduce green waste while increasing Hawaii’s food security.

My first Backpack Story in 1996 on an HLV-55 Ikegami Betacam. The professor described a typical "Day in the Life" of the tribesmen, their history, uniqueness, and how modern technology is erasing their very existence.
